Little Freddie Freckle Face

Little Freddie Freckle Face

By: Cathy Lea Collar

Little Freddie Freckle Face,
Could not find a hiding place.
Each morning he’d sneak out of bed,
And place a hood over his head.

He’d scrape the freckles off his face,
And place them in a big strong safe.
He’d sneak slyly down the hall,
Ducking behind every wall.

He’d gather up his books and go!
Dodging freckles to and fro!
They were hiding everywhere,
Behind the sofa and the chair!

They hid behind each bush and tree.
And oh!  They were so hard to see!
Little Freddie Freckle Face
Could not find a hiding place.

They would follow him to school.
Sometimes hiding in the pool.
He would be swimming in the sun,
Splishing, splashing, and having fun.

When he went to change his clothes,
There they were - splat - on his nose.
And then sometimes after gym,
He would find them on his chin.

No matter what he did each day,
They would detect him anyway.
He’d leave home without a freckle
And return all full of speckles.

Little Freddie Freckle Face
Could not find a hiding place.
So each day he’d hide and run.
Dodging freckles was not fun!
